We will walk or ride together to the Circle of Pines for an introductory gathering to share information and refreshments. \nThis will be followed by tours of the burial ground and surrounding prairie and woodlands\, and a presentation that will include a demonstration of shrouding and a conservation burial. We will end our time at the Circle of Pines for last questions and visiting.

DESCRIPTION:Solfest will be held on June 20th\, 2025\, from noon-10:30pm at Metea County Park\, Fox Island’s sister to the north\, located at 8401 Union Chapel Road\, Fort Wayne. We give 100% to Allen County Parks. Join us for a fun filled day of local music \, food trucks\, brews provided by Ambrosia Orchard and Fortlandia Microbrewery\, and dozens of eclectic craft vendors all coming together an amazing cause! Help us keep nature programs at the county parks:-) Fun for ALL AGES!! We have spinners\, swimming\, hiking\, bounce houses\, and plenty of other fun activities all day long! Please bring bathing suits and towels and hop a ride on a golf cart to the lake! Please no outside alcohol\, well behaved pets are welcome with a leash\, and you may bring water bottles and bags that are subject to be opened/searched at the welcome booth as you enter the park. Feel free to bring all forms shade and water misters! Chance to win a free parks pass and other door prizes when you enter! \nThis festival was created to celebrate and support one of Fort Wayne’s natural gems\, Fox Island County Park\, and we have expanded to reach Metea County Park as well. We are excited to be a part of the community efforts that will see Both of our county parks prosper as a resource for sustaining biodiversity and recreation/education in our community. \nWe are currently seeking sponsors and in kind donations for the silent auction. The silent auction is Huge part of our park fundraising and contributes to a fourth of what we actually give the parks. DESCRIPTION:Monarch Festival\nThe Little River Wetlands Project announces its annual Monarch Festival to be held on Sunday\, September 20\, 2026\, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Eagle Marsh Nature Preserve barn\, located at 6801 Engle Road\, Fort Wayne. \nThis family-friendly event is open to the public. Adults are $3. Children and LRWP members are free. \nCelebrate the incredible lifecycle and transformation of monarch butterflies through a variety of engaging programs and activities: \n– Live Monarch Displays: Observe monarchs at different stages of their life cycle\n– Butterfly Tagging: Participate in tagging monarch butterflies before their release\n– Educational Presentations: Enjoy learning stations and hands-on activities for all ages\n– Plant Giveaway: Take home milkweed\, the only plant on which monarchs lay eggs\n– Local Projects: Learn about local efforts to support native pollinators from our community partners
